282 days ago I found out that I was given the opportunity to live and study somewhere I never imagined I would get a chance to visit. For the Spring semester of my Junior year I will be studying away in Hawaii and exchanging to the University of Hawaii at Hilo. This is a dream come true. I still have the same level of excitement as I did when I received the phone call saying I would be studying in Hawaii for 4.5 months. And truthfully, as the days get closer and closer and the reality is starting to set in that I am actually leaving in 16 days I am both more ecstatic and nervous than before. Because of this excitement I decided to do a 100 day count. The 100th day was the first day I started the count down on social media, I personally have been counting down since day 298 when I found out but decided to wait until it was closer to start the "official" count down. While I only posted some photos online I had around 50 or so count downs going on around campus. If I had access to a dry erase marker and a white board I would add a count down and change it anytime I would come by. For the 100th day I decided to dress up as a tacky to urist and wore a fanny pack, Hawaiian shirt, lei and walked around carrying a pineapple and stitch doll all day. Day 50, I dressed up as a hula girl and took a picture on the heart of my campus, The Horseshoe. With 30 days to go some of the freshmen marine science students I tutored dressed up as pineapples for their first final exam in College. We surprised our professor by showing up to the final and making her a costume as well. I think that has been my favorite day of the count down so far! For my last day at USC, I also posted a picture of me wearing my UHH shirt standing in front of old smoke chimney that says USC. This was the last day I would step on USC campus until starting my senior year next August. For the FINAL 10 days before I leave I am planning a special 10 day count down, stay updated with my Instagram account and this blog to see all of the pictures I take along the way.
